Skip the store-bought stuff—this lemon ginger cinnamon water (tea) is warm, comforting, and full of goodness. It’s got real fresh ginger, mellow Ceylon cinnamon, and bright lemon peel to make you feel better from the inside out.

Ingredients

Scale

1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and grated

2 cups (480ml) filtered water

1/2 a Ceylon cinnamon stick

One strip of lemon peel (avoid the white pith)

Fresh lemon slices and/or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice

Sweetener of choice (like honey or stevia)

Instructions

  1. Peel and grate your ginger using a microplane or fine grater.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the water, grated ginger, cinnamon stick, and lemon peel.

  4. Lower the heat and let it stay at a bare simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and strain through a fine mesh strainer.
  6. Add in lemon slices and/or a squeeze of lemon juice.
  7. Stir in sweetener to taste.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy.
