1- النجاة في الأدغال – Jungle Survival
Julia is a seventeen-year-old girl living with her mother in America. One day, she was on a plane with her mother heading to Lima, Peru to meet her father.
جوليا فتاة تبلغ من العمر 17 عاماً، وتعيش مع والدتها في أمريكا. ذات يوم، كانت على متن طائرة متجهة إلى مدينة ليما في البيرو برفقة والدتها لتقابل والدها هناك.
There was a thunderstorm over the Amazon forest. Rain fell heavily and there was a strong wind. Thunder hit the plane when it was high in the sky and it exploded. Julia fell through the air quickly and hit the trees hard.
حصلت عاصفة رعدية فوق غابة الأمازون. هطل المطر بغزارة، وكانت الرياح شديدة. ضرب البرق الطائرة في أثناء تحليقها عالياً في السماء، فانفجرت. سقطت جوليا في الهواء بسرعة، واصطدمت بالأشجار بشدة.
She was unconscious for three hours. When she woke up her right arm was bleeding, her left shoulder was also hurt badly, and she couldn’t see in one eye. She was completely alone in the woods.
غابت عن الوعي لمدة ثلاث ساعات. عندما استيقظت، كان ذراعها الأيمن ينزف، تأذى كتفها الأيسر بشدة، فيما لم تستطع الرؤية بإحدى عينيها. كانت وحيدة تماماً في الغابة.
Her dad was a biologist and taught her to survive in the jungle when she was young. She found a small river and walked slowly along with it. She thought that if she followed the river, she would find people.
كان والدها عالم أحياء، وعلمها كيفية النجاة في الأدغال عندما كانت صغيرة. وجدت نهراً صغيراً، ومشت بمحاذاته ببطء. اعتقدت أنها إن مشت بمحاذاة النهر، ستجد بشراً.
She could have clean water to drink from the river too. It was an extremely difficult situation but she could manage it. She had to swim in the river sometimes because it was too deep to walk.
يمكنها الحصول على مياه نظيفة للشرب من النهر أيضاً. كان الموقف صعباً جداً، لكنها تعاملت معه بشكل جيد. اضطرت للسباحة في النهر أحياناً لأنه كان أعمق من أن تمشي فيه.
There were crocodiles in the water but they didn’t attack her. She saw some fruit on trees but didn’t eat any because she thought it would be too dangerous.
كانت توجد تماسيح في المياه، ولكنها لم تهاجمها. رأت بعض الفاكهة على الأشجار، لكن لم تتناول أياً منها لأنها اعتقدت أن ذلك سيشكل خطراً عليها.
Julia walked for ten days. She stopped sleeping at night because it was too dark to walk. Ten days after the crash, she found a small hut by the river where some woodcutters lived. They cleaned her cuts and cooked her food. They took care of her for days before calling the police to take her to a hospital.
مشت جوليا لمدة عشرة أيام متتالية. كانت تتوقف لتنام أثناء الليل لأنه كان من الصعب المشي في الظلمة الحالكة. بعد عشرة أيام من الحادث، عثرت على كوخ صغير قرب النهر حيث يعيش بعض الحطابين. نظفوا جروحها، وطهوا لها الطعام. اعتنوا بها عدة أيام، ومن ثم اتصلوا برجال الشرطة لنقلها إلى المستشفى.
Julia was the only survivor of the plane crash. All the others, including her mother, died.
كانت جوليا الناجية الوحيدة من حادث تحطم الطائرة. توفي الآخرون جميعهم، بما فيهم والدتها.
2- قصة الأسد والفأر – The Lion and the Mouse
One day, a small mouse was playing on the back of a sleeping lion. The lion was scary and huge and he was annoyed by the mouse.
ذات يوم، كان فأر صغير يلعب على ظهر أسد نائم. كان الأسد مخيفاً وضخماً، وشعر بالانزعاج من الفأر.
He screamed: “How dare you come close to the king of the jungle?” The small mouse got terrified and started begging the lion to let him go. “Please don’t eat me! I am sure you will need my help one day”, he said.
صرخ قائلاً: “كيف تتجرأ على الاقتراب من ملك الغابة؟”. ارتعدت فرائص الفأر الصغير، وبدأ يتوسل الأسد لكي يفلته. “أرجوك لا تأكلني! أنا متأكد من أنك ستحتاج إلى مساعدتي يوماً ما”، قال.
The lion laughed out loud and said “You are such a funny little mouse. I won’t kill you because you make me laugh. You can go home safely.”
ضحك الأسد صاخباً، وقال “يا لك من فأر مضحك! لن أقتلك لأنك تضحكني. يمكنك العودة إلى منزلك في سلام”.
Years later, hunters came to the forest and captured the lion. The mouse heard about that and rushed to help the lion. The hunters tied the lion’s arms and legs too tightly and put him inside a cage.
بعد مرور عدة سنوات، جاء صيادون إلى الغابة، وأسروا الأسد. علم الفأر بذلك، وهرع لمساعدة الأسد. قيد الصيادون قدمي الأسد وذراعيه بإحكام، ووضعوه داخل قفص.
The lion recognized the mouse and felt happy to see him. The mouse started biting the ropes and tried his best to free the lion. Finally, he succeeded and was able to cut all the ropes and open the cage’s door.
تعرف الأسد على الفأر، وشعر بالسعادة لرؤيته. بدأ الفأر بعض الحبال، وبذل أقصى جهده ليحرر الأسد. في النهاية، نجح في ذلك، وتمكن من قطع كل الحبال، وفتح باب القفص.
The lion managed to flee and come back to the jungle. He was extremely grateful for the mouse and thanked him a million times. They become best friends.
تمكن الأسد من الهروب والعودة إلى الأدغال. شعر بالامتنان الشديد للفأر، وشكره كثيراً. أصبحا صديقين حميمين.
