There is no denying that English is the most widely spoken language in the world. It is used in almost every country and most of the world’s top companies and has a huge demand in the job market. A whopping 1.3 billion people speak English as their first language, and an estimated 880 million people speak it as a second language.

Why learning is important?

According to the World Economic Forum (WEF), English is an essential part of any business curriculum. The WEF’s 2017 Global Attitudes Survey shows that four out of every five new graduates seek employment in an economy where at least half their dialogue will be conducted in English.

Here are some reasons about the importance of English learning:

1) International Language English is the dominant global business language

It is used in international trade, can be found on many websites, and its use has expanded across regions like Africa expanding literacy rates to unprecedented levels. As per this article, English will play an increasingly prominent role as it becomes easier for businesses to expand globally because of technology advancements such as e-commerce & internet marketing, etc.

2) A better chance to find a job

English is globally recognized as the most common language in use. However, not every country equally provides opportunities according to their economic conditions and domestic industries. A person in India for example might have low chances of being hired by a job in Germany due to high competition resulting from many people wanting work there since it offers better wages & benefits than Indian companies with low-profit margins so on! Therefore learning basic English sounding skills will help them get jobs anywhere they are.

3) An opportunity to study in different countries

You can study in English language schools and universities worldwide. You can also pursue a masters in English outside by obtaining a scholarship.

4) To invent new ideas

The use of English is not limited to business or research activities but very much encompasses development based aspects where innovative concepts are sought after with less risks regarding cross-contamination due to language barriers.

5) Meeting new people and expanding circles

Next to the social aspects, English is also an important international language for business and trade connections. Working relationships with foreign companies or co-workers enable many opportunities such as more exposure to culture & traditions.

6) A useful language in traveling

As English is the world’s most common language, many people wish to learn it for big touristic instances such as plane journeys! Learning reduces fear of places & helps with overcoming difficult situations.

7) The language of the internet and Media

Around the world, English is highly represented in culture, media, and the Internet. It is expected that a large number of new jobs will result from this ubiquity rather than “the language of Business”.

8) Language of Science

Science students often study various scientific topics such as quantum physics & astronomy hence where English has been useful for communication science works have grown tremendously.

9) Official language of the Globe and the United Nations

Of course, no list would be complete without mentioning English. This is because we can all agree that this language has relevance in promoting peace, understanding & humanitarian aid around the globe or even at home should a political conflict arise.

10) Language of tv, media, film & communication

With the prevalence of TV around the world, English was thought to be an important language for communication. Through countries developing their own stations, this gave people a source of information which they could understand without understanding what is being said outright.

11) Learning English as a new language

Learning English as a new language is not only fun & rewarding but can be very useful especially for people that want to travel long distances & who are foreigners in their own country, students looking for jobs or collaborators within the IT sector.

12) English is not “bad” anymore!

This language has developed beyond its negative stereotype of being chosen because it is easy enough to understand by non-native speakers. In fact, English has been helping people develop other languages such as Asian & African Languages through modernizing their grammar into a more neutral form ideal for diversified communication.
